Kenyan singer Abbi is launching his third album this summer and Africa Journal went behind the scenes to witness the cross-cultural fusions involved in creating it.
A Reuters Africa Journal report by Katrin Ender. The video features Boom Clap Bachelors member/producer Ronni Vindahl and BCB engineer Mads Oustrup responsible for mixing and mastering.

ITS THE WAY:
Quadron is the US right now promoting their album and making a video for the track "slippin". Quadron joins Anthony Valadez for a guest dj set at KCRW Radio the place where Quadron got their break in the U.S.
DJ Anthony Valadez got his hands on an early copy of the album and started slipping it into the mix at KCRW. Soon enough, just about every DJ got behind it. The album is now released in U.S.

Coco and Robin plays some soulful tracks for your listening pleasure.
A bit of backstory to the Quadron / KCRW relationship:
Quadron is a band that seemingly came out of nowhere and then slowly but surely appeared on every KCRW DJ’s playlist towards the end of 2009. I finally found out the story behind this “phenomenon” straight from DJ Anthony Valadez:
“Robert Wilson is a friend of mine from college and a long time KCRW supporter. He regularly shows up at my residencies with a CDR full of music he thinks I should hear. It is hit and miss – I’m a picky guy. But this one time it was possibly the best hit of all time. I got home and loaded up the music and there was this band from Denmark. I read the band’s name “Quadron” and tuned in to my musical intuition (which is always wrong) and thought “Possibly electro synth pop from Germany”. Wrong. So wrong. It was the soundtrack to my dreams! Every song moved me — the arrangement, the strings, the keys, the vocals. I slipped Quadron’s song “Unpatience” into my KCRW sets and even into some DJ sets at the clubs early in the night and received lots of feedback on the band. I was truly dumbfounded by the fact this album was not being fully supported, although it should be noted that the album was not domestically released in the states.I began to do my research on this band and figured out a connection that made total sense – the man behind the production is Robin Hannibal. Hannibal is also responsible for one of my favorite records a few years back (Owusu & Hannibal – Ubiquity Records – 2006).

"UGENS UUNDGÅELIGE PÅ P3"
Each week, Danish National Radio P3, selects a new song to be played more than all the other songs on the channel. This week we are proud to announce that they picked our remix for Panamah - "ikke for sent" to get that honor.
In other words, if you hear just a bit P3, you can hardly avoid getting it in the ears
Congrats to Panamah and to ourselves :-) woooohooooooooo......

Take dat, take dat.. (c) Diddy

Solo album coming soon from Boom Clap Bachelors member Ronni Vindahl.
He plays in both the Non + and Boom Clap Bachelors, but that is not quite enough for multi-instrumentalist and producer Ronni Vindahl now taking some time off to concentrate on his solo project.
It is confirmed, among other things, that he has made track with Coco from Quadron that will be featured on the album
More info coming soon.....
